Jewelry Gift Boxes
When it comes to jewelry gift boxes, size is less important. What matters is the content. Usually the jewelry you buy comes with its own box, made by the designer or outsourced and approved by the designer or vendor. These boxes you get with the piece of jewelry you buy are usually the best suited choice, matching the type, shape and size of the item.

However, there are shops and vendors where you can buy jewelry and get no box. Then, you have to go out and buy jewelry gift boxes and you start having choices. Now, it all depends on your sweetheart or the person you are buying the jewelry for. In theory, as I said before, the size and shape does not matter too much, but these elements too can increase or decrease the popularity of the gift you are offering. Color is also an important element, but I will get to that later on.

Firstly, depending on the age and preferences of the receiver, the size of the jewelry gift boxes can be a pleasant surprise or a nice, mild, scare, leading up to a more powerful impact of the piece of jewelry bought. A small box is a dead giveaway of the item inside, but here you have to be careful because earring boxes look like ring boxes and you wouldn’t want to create the wrong initial impression. When giving earrings to your sweetheart, in a small box, do no kneel or do not hold a speech reviewing your strong and beautiful relationship so far.

Keep it simple, otherwise you will fail to meet expectations. Small necklace boxes are ok, they usually create just enough expectation to make the gift matter. On the other hand, a big box, holding a small but valuable piece of jewelry, can trigger a nice surprise, since nobody expects pieces of jewelry to come in big boxes. As an element of variation, if your sweetheart is of a more playful nature, you can use a toaster box or a kitchen mixer box, and watch the surprise on their face when they see they were quick to judge your gift choosing skills.

The shape of jewelry gift boxes is the least important element of the three elements (size, shape, color). Jewelry gift boxes are usually your basic geometric shapes, rectangles, ovals, circles, etc. However, if you are not fully satisfied with the piece of jewelry bought, you can choose a wackier shape, meant as a slight distraction. Here too you can choose a stranger shape to misdirect attention and create that nice surprise upon the discovery of the item.

Color should match the type of jewelry bought and the type of person receiving the jewelry. For older and more business-oriented people, you should choose more sober colors, such as black, dark brown, dark blue and so on. On the other hand, if the receiver is younger and/or more playful, you can get crazy with the colors, choosing brighter colors or even multi-color boxes, but this too depends on the type of jewelry bought, because you can’t give someone a diamond necklace in a bright orange box with blue polka-dots, can you?
